Your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Product Management to translate the Commercial Requirement Specification (CRS) into a clear target specification for new or improved fixed cameras.
  • Define the overall system architecture, including required features, feasibility, and alignment with current technologies and reliability standards.
  • Consult with technical specialists (video, power, transmission, hardware, software) to review and refine the architecture.
  • Guide and coordinate designers on implementing the system in development increments.
  • Oversee the technical system design and ensure alignment across all project contributors.
  • Ensure production engineering is informed of technical and manufacturing requirements in time for seamless industrialization.
  • Validate the camera system for production and support its introduction into manufacturing, service, and customer environments.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for Product Marketing, Project Managers, Engineering Teams, and Manufacturing.
  • Perform tests and analysis together with the Reliability Engineer related to the quality validation plan.
  • Perform tests and analysis on video and audio performance against specified and subjective criteria.
Your role contributes to:
  • Developing innovative camera systems based on customer needs, technological advancements, and industry trends.
  • Improving existing professional broadcast camera platforms through system-level design enhancements.
  • Specifying system performance, behavior, and functionality from a user/system perspective.
  • Collaborating with R&D field specialists to derive and decompose requirements, create test and verification plans, and ensure products meet technical and quality standards.
  • Supporting the creation of production test plans and system integration planning.
  • Participating in video and audio performance evaluations, both analytical and subjective, alongside Reliability Engineers.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in system design or architecture, ideally in the broadcast or professional camera industry.
  • Strong knowledge of camera systems and a deep understanding of broadcast-specific applications.
  • Broad technical expertise in optics, colorimetry, control systems, software processes, power, and FPGA development.
  • Familiarity with disciplines such as video/audio processing, intercom, and signal transmission.
  • Insight into the needs of camera users and emerging technology trends in the broadcast market.
  • Experience benchmarking competitors and tracking industry innovations, patents, and literature.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and recommendations (e.g., SMPTE, ST 2110).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills; Dutch language proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and act as a central technical point of contact.
