About the Team

The Learning and Technical Publications team creates technical learning experiences that enable customers, channel partners, and Grass Valley employees to successfully deploy, operate, maintain, and support Grass Valley solutions. The team develops instructor-led, blended, and supporting learning assets for operators, engineers, and architects working across Grass Valley's product portfolio.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a Technical Learning Content Developer to provide dedicated learning development capacity for priority training and certification programmes.
The primary focus of the role is the creation of high-quality instructor-led learning materials and supporting artefacts for technical audiences. Working closely with subject matter experts, Product teams, Customer Success, and the Learning team, the contractor will design, develop, package, and prepare learning assets for stakeholder review and sign-off.
The role will operate against a defined Statement of Work (SoW) with agreed programme priorities, deliverables, review milestones, and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Learning team members, technical SMEs, Product teams, and other stakeholders to capture and structure learning requirements.
  • Design and develop instructor-led learning solutions for technical audiences.
  • Create comprehensive training materials that support classroom and virtual instructor-led delivery.
  • Convert technical concepts, workflows, and operational procedures into engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Develop practical labs, hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and scenario-based learning activities.
  • Produce technical assessments and certification-related learning assets.
  • Create supporting learning artefacts such as job aids, quick reference guides, workflow diagrams, and learning videos where appropriate.
  • Facilitate review cycles with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
  • Support QA, validation, stakeholder review, and final sign-off activities.
  • Maintain source files, version control, and handover documentation in accordance with Grass Valley learning development standards.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience designing and developing learning content for technical or product-oriented audiences.
  • Experience creating instructor-led training materials, including presentation decks, instructor guides, student guides, exercises, and assessments.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
  • Experience working with technical SMEs to develop accurate and effective learning content.
  • Ability to structure and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience developing practical exercises, workshops, labs, or scenario-based learning activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables within a structured development framework.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within the broadcast, media technology, software, cloud, or engineering sectors.
  • Previous experience with GV Products, GV AMPP, Live Production, Playout, Asset Management, or comparable technology platforms.
  • Certification programmes and assessment framework creation.
  • Experience delivering instructor-led technical training.
  • Experience using Articulate 360, Rise, video editing, or similar learning development tools.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to support learning content development.

Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured by:
  • Delivery of agreed Statement of Work outputs against programme priorities.
  • Production of technically accurate, SME-approved learning materials.
  • Completion of instructor-led training assets to Grass Valley quality standards.
  • Delivery of practical exercises, assessments, and certification assets where required.
  • Successful stakeholder review and sign-off of completed deliverables.
  • Effective handover of source materials and supporting documentation.
  • Contribution to the timely delivery of priority learning and certification programmes.
