The Opportunity
The Director of Pre-Sales oversees the team of Solutions Architects in North America (NAM).  They ensure the teams are supported in all aspects of the day-to-day business.
The Role: 
 
  • Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives for the Americas.
  • Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.
  • Develops and executes sales engineering and/or complex specialist selling strategies and identifies opportunities for process improvements.
  • Provides technical expertise to sales organization in selecting, implementing and developing competitive solutions.
  • Coordinates with the Sales team to make customer calls and presentations as well as participate in bid and walk-through meetings with the customer as necessary.
  • Ensures proposed solution meets the technical and business needs of the customer.
  • Estimates overall solution performance, and price for budgetary estimates.
  • Serves as thought leader and company subject matter expert on specific technical projects with customers.
  • May provide product and service feasibility analysis in support of sales efforts with sales representatives.
  • Develops standards around which others will operate.
  • Work is guided by long-term objectives.
  • Translates business plans into objectives for the Americas.
  • Initiates new or revised procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Aligns operational plan with functional strategy and approach.
  • Develops and administers schedules, objectives, and goals.
  • Delegates clearly and consistently.
  • May develop an external presence through speaking engagements.
  • Develops new techniques to support innovative solutions.
  • Removes barrier to change.

Minimum qualifications:
 
  • Degree education or equivalent experience.
  • Senior management level experience
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering complex application-based solutions spanning SDI / IP, HD / 4K / HDR, on prem and cloud solutions – highlighting GV’s unique advantages and benefits
  • Experience of selling advanced technology products / solutions into B2B markets and major accounts, particularly media and broadcast – dealing with long-term complex sales scenarios and international enterprise-scale opportunities
  • Established high-level relationships in the media and broadcast space
  • Sound understanding of international business and multinational organizations
  • Ability to operate at all seniority levels from board to operational functions
  • Comprehensive understanding of the media and broadcast market
  • Availability for overseas travel

Other Requirements:
 
  •  Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time including international flights
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 30lbs, unassisted
  • Ability to operate in various working environments including loud trade shows to a home office environment.
