Software Processing Team 

Capturing video is only valuable if you know how to use it. Our Team ingests, stores, process and perform analytics on video data, all at scale. We design solutions for high availability, high throughput, and security. We are the trusted partner to many of the biggest and most creative names in the media and entertainment business as we help our customers to build successful media businesses and navigate the rapidly shifting mediascape. 

The Role 

Grass Valley’s Software Engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change the way how billions of users all around the world perceive and interact with information, life events by providing the next level of excitement. Moreover, our products have to handle data at massive scale in real-time. This role will be responsible for design and implementation of class leading software targeted at both cloud and on-premises deployment. We are looking for creative, knowledgeable and dedicated people who are ready to join and continue the journey with us. 

The main responsibilities: 

• Contribute towards technical solutions to clients requirements or issues 

• Provide technical guidance to Engineers working on building out new features 

• Lead designs for major software components, systems, and features. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software 

• Plan and participate in all the software development steps 

• Establish schedule and estimate tasks 

• Use the best software engineering practices (e.g. unit tests, automated testing, code review) 

• Integrate code from other teams 

• Own your applications, ensure they deploy and run 24/7 with great performance 

• Stay up to date with latest technologies

What you will need to be successful 

• Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 

• 2+  years’ experience in software development design 

• Fluent English (spoken and written) with excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Programming experience in C++14 and higher. Any additional programming skills is a big advantage 

• Concurrent programming 

• Cross-platform programming (Linux/Windows) 

Preferred qualifications 

• Experience in cloud and on-premise software development 

• Software Development Lifecycle (CI/CD processes) 

• Understanding the TCP/IP from the network programming perspective 

Nice to have: 

• Programming experience in C# 

• Experience in media streaming, video/audio processing 

• Knowledge about Docker, Microservices, GPGPU programming
