Regional Procurement Lead – APAC to oversee indirect procurement activities across the APAC region. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Indirect Spend, based in Canada, and play a key role in driving procurement excellence, cost optimization, and supplier performance for the region.
Primary FunctionAs the Regional Procurement Lead - APAC, you will:
- Serve as Procurement Lead in front of stakeholders for GV within the region.
- Strategically manage indirect spend, identifying and delivering cost reduction opportunities.
- Lead contract lifecycle management including timely negotiation, renewals, and execution of new agreements.
- Be familiar with commercial terms, legal requirements and contract governance policies.
- Leverage benchmarking and best practices to drive year-over-year improvements.
- Achieve total cost reductions, and overall supply base rationalization and concentration, soliciting key stakeholder input, leveraging global supplier base wherever it makes sense.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with functional leaders, stakeholders, and peers.
- Respond to requests with a strong sense of urgency.
- Lead and support transformation and change management in regional category strategy deployment. Utilize negotiation and influencing skills to gain support across many levels of the organization.
- Conduct competitive bidding processes and lead and support negotiations. Assess and manage supplier risk.
- Communicate procurement KPIs and performance metrics clearly and effectively.
- Manage procurement reporting, including tracking key metrics, spend analytics, and performance dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
- Strategic procurement expertise (source to Contract), with knowledge of purchasing operations.
- Experience in spend analysis, requirements documentation, RFP and RFQs, bid and price analysis, negotiation and contract award, and supplier performance management, leveraging purchasing tools (SAP, Basware, and DocuSign).
- ERP process documentation, recommendations, carve out, workflow and deployment/upgrade.
What do you have to offer:Education:- College degree or equivalent experience
Experience:- A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a similar role or procurement background
- Experienced in negotiating complex indirect materials and service agreements (MSA, SOW)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- Contract language knowledge, SOW is an asset
- Understanding of Indirect Business requirements and operations
- At ease in a fast-paced environment with very short delays
- MS Office suite proficiency, experience with Power BI is a plus
- Must be organized
- Able to manage a multiple priorities
- Malay & English communication skills mandatory
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
