Your Role
As a Hardware-Sensor Engineer, you receive a defined part of the camera subsystem to design (hardware electronics and sensor) based on the Sub System Specification provided by the Camera (Sensor) Architect. You create a detailed schedule and specifications for your assigned part and discuss these with the Architect to ensure alignment. Throughout development, you push technical boundaries as needed to meet quality, functionality, reliability, and specification standards.
You regularly consult with the (Sensor) Architect on your progress and when necessary, with other (Sensor) Developers about the relationship between the various parts to be designed to ensure proper integration of components. You actively work within the team to resolve any delays, and if issues cannot be solved internally, you escalate them through the Architect to the Project Manager. Additionally, you coordinate with test houses to make sure all tests are properly conducted and meet the required specifications.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Define and perform the hardware platforms (including component selection, schematic capture, signal integrity and power integrity simulations and functional analysis) required for evaluating first silicon or test silicon, in coordination with the sensor team.
- Design image sensors and perform simulations to validate design parameters.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle such as specifications, verification plans and test reports.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in R&D, customer support, test houses, etc.
- Conduct evaluations initially in stand-alone mode, followed by integration tests within the full camera application.
- Analyze deficiencies through root cause analysis and simulations, proposing solutions or workarounds to optimize sensor usability.
- Define qualification and test setups in collaboration with the Camera Sensor Architect, test house, and R&D Quality and Reliability Engineer.
- Participate in reviews of qualification hardware, software, and testing procedures.
- Engage in regular progress meetings with the test house to discuss new designs, production issues, and yield analysis.
- Review and approve qualification test results jointly with relevant stakeholders.
- Innovate new or improved functionalities for existing image sensors in current or new camera products. Examples include:
- Enhancements in pixel specifications and optimizations in the application of our current pixel design.
- New ways to read out our image sensor designs.
- Lead the technical creation and implementation of subsystem components, including hardware sub-designs and innovative solutions aligned with production and maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with fellow designers, making critical design decisions within budget and timeline constraints.
- Works closely with fellow designers, makes critical decisions within budget and time constraints, and may oversee interns.
- Balance quality and cost considerations while fulfilling subsystem responsibilities.
Your role contributes to:
